In my opinion, The Second World War happened due to many causes, both long-term and short-term. SOme important causes were nationalistic tensions, unresolved issues, and resentments resulting from the First World War and the interwar period in Europe, plus the effects of the Great Depression in the 1930s. This lead to aggressive countries and finnally, to war in September 1939
